PostSubject: New to the group! 206cc driver :)   Sat Jan 04, 2014 5:05 pm

Hey guys! Just got myself an old 206cc on Saturday!

Gonna send it to Thomas & partners for a brief check on Monday, and see what needs to be changed and all.

Likely I would need to look at changing the front tyres, perhaps a timing belt (potentially since it's about 80k km), and not sure what else.

How's everybody doing???? Back to work on Monday! Hah May everybody Huat Huat this year!

Tyres are the only component between the car and the road. So I hope u got a relatively sticky tyre to hold the road. Laughing

Haha seems okay... The road noise sounds a lot better though.. Front ones were balding, back ones were uneven wear prior.

Seems like I probably have to do some general oil servicing, potentially looking at brake pads and potential timing belt change soon. Maybe car battery too. haha

it probably better to get better tyres as tyres are the only contact u have between the road and you. safety first bro, especially on raining days.

Yup of course.. That's why tyres were the first to go.. I guess they must be at least safe and decent, if not the tyre shop will get into trouble I suppose..

But definitely not your top of the name tyres lah..

Hey,

Reality is, I haven't sent in for checking. Was in Bangkok over the weekend. Am probably intending to send this week.. In another post on this forum, someone said a look-see is about $50..

But I suspect I need to change some oils, maybe a battery, and brake pads.. So.. yeah.

So why don't go there for oil change and at the same time ask for a opinion of the car condition. In that way, he don't charge for the inspection. Right?

Haha I might do that actually.. the oil change, but the previous owner said he did it 2 months back..

But anyway, I believe if you change any parts, they would waive the $50 in lieu of labor cost anyway.. quite likely I'll have stuff to change
