Thanks for being part of the SG Peugeot Club member. I'm new here. Planning to get the Pugeot 308 Allure Turbo. Can anyone of you kind enough to share your views or experiences on the car.

So far I've test driven the car at AF, experience is quite good in terms of quality of ride and the paranomic roof.

Current car I'm driving is Mit Coltplus Turbo. hi

Welcome!

The 308 doesn't have the "pew pew" turbo sound like your current car when you floor the accelerator. Laughing

And depending on luck, you may encounter some issues on the 308. I just posted about my engine temperature issue at another thread. It's a love or hate relationship. Though I missed my lion's turbo, I enjoyed the slow drive in the rain yesterday, like a purring pussy cat smile2

Going to call AF later.

turn around time is subjective. My first 2 servicings; sent in at 10am, collected about 4pm. I'm sure other bros here had theirs faster (and slower).

One thing i noticed, calling the Service Engineer assigned to your car can expedite collection Very Happy

From visiting their service centre in Ubi in 2002 till now in Leng Kee, just take it as morning in and evening out. Then you will not be upset and stressed out with when the car is ready. Sometimes, there are many factors that slow the process of servicing.

In the last 10 years, my then 206 never has to sleep over even for major servicing or wear and tear replacement. My then 307SW has to sleep over once as my evaporator/condenser coil and water pump has to be replaced. It went in as a unscheduled drive-in repair although they were fully booked.

I will always tell the SE that I rather they take their time and check thoroughly and ensure that I do not have to return to remedy than to rush and I have to go down again. So far, it has not happen although sitting at the waiting area, I do hear some other customer returning to complain about such issues.

On a scale of 10, I rate them 6.5 for service, price and quality. For comparison, my C4 went to C&C thrice and I am disappointed. I rate them a 3.5. My Elantra went to Komoco and I rate them a 5. Only tried AF, C&C, Komoco & Tan Chong (rated 4.5) personally. Performance was with my cousin. Rated them 6.5 but they would have scored higher if not for the price.

To replace the boot space of Coltplus you need 3008 or at least SW (wagon). Very Happy

I like to experience new brand/ride so to learn more.

Has been bz looking around for the past few weeks. Had test drove quite a few models from diff manufacturer:

Volkswagen Golf- give up the idea due to gear box issue
Mercedes New B class- like the spacious cabin and tons of gadget, tried the park assist and it does work flawlessly.
Citroen DS4 - not use to its EGS gear box, pick up vy sluggish esp from 1st to 2nd gear.
Volvo S60 T 4- great car but however felt too overprice on their base model.
Opel Astra 1.6 Turbo- was given a vy good price on their showroom piece, come with full OPC body kit.
Peugeot 308 Allure Turbo- vy competitive pricing and comes with the panaromic glass roof.

Base on those cars that I've mentioned. I've shortlisted the opel astra, pueg 308 and lastly Merc. All purchases still pending due to high COE. drunken

Either Opel or Pug. Just avoid the B-class.

A-class and B-class are not as well-built as the regular C, E and S class. The parts supplier selection are from 2nd tier suppliers due to cheap production. There are many minor things that are not of best engineering practices in these 2 models. Hence, many owners complain rattling, pre-mature failure of parts, etc....Not to say it breakdown everyday but more than what it should be.

However the 2013 A-class is re-designed to address the flaws. The drive train layout is conventional instead of slanted-mount in the old A-class.

Wow didn't know that you have so much knowledge in these 2 models. Anyway the new B class was just launch. Did you hear any complain? Did hear some owners says that the engine is pretty rough when you rave it. I tested the car and I just drove it quite leisurely, so not much complain.
Thanks for the advise, will just stick to the Peug 308 and the Astra 1.6 turbo. Thup

I had a 1999 A-class A160 auto clutch. I was sucked in by the auto-clutch. It had a gear stick, 5 speed manual but no clutch pedal. Just pull the stick like a manual and the clutch will be auto. Interesting. But I find the finishing not on par with the regular Mercedes.

The Instrument cluster was made by Magneti Marelli (Italy) instead of VDO (Germany). In those days were I had Alfa Romeo, the instrument was made by Magneti Marelli and they always give trouble. Now Alfa are using Bosch and Aor B-class runs to Italian supplier.

Currently, I have 2 freinds who are driving B200 turbo. Both are complaining. angry
