Congrats.....

Would it be wiser to enjoy the already polished paintwork by AF, say about 2 months when the water don't form beads anymore, then do Revol ?

I feel it is a waste to re-polish so fast. I like the water beads look when you wash the car.

When AF pass over the car, good for 2 months, then you Revol which is good for another 2 months. At least you get 4 months of water bead look. Very Happy

Not sure about AF's polishing standards. My 307sw that had a grooming session (not the usual wash after servicing) with them after servicing, cannot last even a week. Quite poor standards. I rather get it PPS right from the start and new car has a 10% discount too.

For new car, the paintwork is good and coated with wax protection from factory. So even AF polish is lousy, the fact that paint is new, their polish sticks longer.

For that matter, if your car paintwork is old, I think Revol or CS2 treatment also don't last that long. What I am try to put across is, the condition of the paint matters from the onset. Smile

Our cars do have quite a good paint work.

This is my first Peugeot, paint looks good at this juncture.

As my experience goes, Fiat, Alfa, Subaru and Nissan paintwork is very lousy. They fade after 2 years.

My pugs were solar-fried about 9 to 10 hours during weekdays in the open-air carpark.

My first 206 (Tangerine Orange) started to be less orangy from the 3rd year onwards but not really fade just less shiny. No PPS or much grooming except some handwashing with wax and wash shampoo type. Was much younger then to do such work.

My current 307sw (Grey) was PPS right from the start with Toughseal in AMK and maintains its shine with once a year maintenance. So far minimal loss of shine. Anyway, I saying goodbye to it in 10 hours' time. No It has been a reliable and stedfast workhorse for me in the last 5 years.

Several groomers have commented that the french and german paintwork are quite solid. Not sure if it is really true. But I am sure the old Koreans and Pr*t*n from our northern neighbours cannot make it. See a few in the carparks.

I decided to open the hazard triangle compartment and noticed that there was nothing inside. Sad

Is it the same for any of you?

Yes. The triangle is not standard item for those sold overseas though it is in France as it is mandatory legally.

Anyway, you can have one ordered from France for $30 from AF (Part No.: 9468 30). It will fit into the storage space.

Alternatively, buy one from AA or any car accessory shop for less but it will likely unable to fit into the storage space.

Thanks, I will ask AF to sell me one then. Feel a little uncomfortable without it.

It will take about 2-3 weeks to ship unless they shipped a few in when I ordered mine with the car.

They still owe me a few other accessories. They are quite screwed up as their system cannot search for all the accessories for 508SW. Not sure whether they are reluctant to bring in or throw them in for me.

I literally have to search the UK websites and surface the parts number to them.

If you can wait, let me get the rest of the stuff fixed up and then let you know if they are good.

Other stuff:
Boot bumper protector (Still waiting)
Chrome wing mirror (installed) - I like chrome ...
Door Sill (installed) - I like chrome ...
Air deflector (installed) - I like to roll down window slightly when parked in the sun
Triangle (Still waiting)
Boot Shim (Got it) - this is cool, get a set. It stops your stuff from moving about in the boot.
Front & Rear Mud Flap (Still waiting)
Boot mat (Still waiting)

Hey Bro Yodafia,

During idle, does your car have excessive engine vibration?

I would expect idle vibration in a new car almost to the point where you can't tell if engine is started or not. In my 508, at idle, the vibration is like those Japanese car engine mounting broken feeling. angry

Once the engine is warm, no vibration or much sound. With gear in drive, the vibration is slightly increased but still NOT as bad as the 508 Active I test drove at AF.

By the way, what is the usual engine oil temperature and coolant temperature?

During Malaysia trip, the temperature seems erratic which makes me kinda worried.

During my Singapore drive and the first few days drive up to KL, the oil temp is around 90 mark especially during normal 110 driving and coolant is slightly higher than 90.

Wonder if it is coincidental, after my pumping of V-Power Racing of about 45L, the oil temp now is hovering around 70 and coolant slightly below 90.

Wonder if I broke something ... like the thermostat that the fan is now running full blast resulting in cooler fluids or the sensors gone bonkers but cannot be oil and coolant at the same time or the V-Power Racing burns less hot as compared to Shell 98+V-Power mixture.

Both coolant and oil is usually hovering ard 90C. Maybe monitor it in local traffic over the next few days.
