5008 is the better MPV deal inh todays' context. Many still shy away from this brand.

Just finish collecting my 5008 in the morning. It is a comfortable ride! No regret.

Previously ride is a Honda Stream 2.0. Still haven't try out the Prince engine power yet. But the speed picking up at low rev is very good. Hit 100km/h unnoticeable. Also the sound proofing is way better than Honda. Can't hear other vehicle noise at all except super loud lorries or busses.

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Run in the car first before you explore the potential of the engine.. Trust me, it's gonna be surprise after surprise... What a Face

I am not a expert in car engine or power those sort of thing, I just know how to drive the car.

However, there are many instances when I stop first at the junction, and when the light turns green, I will accelerate lightly, gently and always take note of the car beside me. I am not trying to challenge or something, but I notice many times, the pick up speed of mine is faster than the car beside me and smoother with no jerk. Does this mean, good engine power tongue

Max torque (actual pulling power of car) of 240Nm kick in at 1,600rpm, that's explain the good moving off from stand still. For NA engine, to have the same torque, the engine size got to be 2,400cc, and most time the full torque only achievable at around 4,000rpm, in other words, city driving in Singapore, you hardly get max torque out of the NA engine.

Hi all,

Thanks for the welcome.

Been driving this few days, thumbs up to the Pug!
Comfortable: Pug win!
Sporty: Pug and Honda draw!
Sound proof: Pug win!
Features: Pug win!
Seating: Pug and Honda draw! (Pug better 2nd row, Honda better 3rd row)
Storage: Pug win!
Engine: <not try full potential yet> pick up speed is good even with light pedal because of running in

Driving Pug is like cruising around happily.
Really no regret! Hope this Pug will give me the same reliability as my previous Honda.

Cheers!

The Honda Stream 2.0 gives me about 9.5km/l.
If running M'sia highway, gives 13km/l.

I haven't finish 1 tank of 5008 fuel yet, but based on the trip computer, it's look promising, about 11km/l.

I think FC: Pug win!

Really hard to drive slowly in Singapore. Other ppl press me hard even I drove in the outer lane...
For the Honda stream I found a way to improve the FC by check which speed the car will change gear. E.g. 40kph is will have 4th gear if I back off at 40kph, 60kph will have 5th gear. Something like that.
For 5008, I can't observe what gear it is at and when it change. May be sometime later I will find out. If I have to go fast I still chiong de!

My update on FC.

The trip computer shows FC increase from 11km/l to 9km/l...
I think 11km/l is because I control the rpm max at 2500. Now after 250km, I use 3500rpm at max. So the FC increase a lot... or may be because of the body weight (not mine, but the car).
But I feel the power is super compare to the previous Honda!

My plan is after the first service, 2500 km, I will bring the the engine to redline (a few seconds), just to season it for high rev. Looking forward to the tremendous power from the Prince engine!

FC: Honda win!

What do you see in the computer average speed? This is a important number too.

Since average speed is 28km/h, 9.2km/L is about there. This shows that you are travelling much of the journey in town or start stop traffic.

If you envy those who get 11km/L you have to achieve average speed 34km/h to 35km/L. This will means travelling more on expressway when traffic is light, so that you can achieve higher cruising speed. E.g. Night time travel to say airport terminal 3 for supper.
