So far,

c. Turbo Spoil
d. Lighting spoil
e. Reverse sensor cable came off
and many more...regretted buying this.

European cars let me rank them. Most reliable is Germans, British, French, Italian.....

German's most reliable brand is Mercedes and Porsche but they don't even hold a candle to Toyota Corolla in terms of trouble free motoring. So if you have chosen a French car which is 2nd from the bottom and your previous car is Japanese, then you will realised the gap/expectation is quite far off.

If you previous car is an Alfa Romeo or Fiat, then Pugs are far more reliable. stre

I also used to drive Toyota before I change to Peugeot 5008. Relatively true that i need to go to workshop more often. So I am also a bit worry about the reliability of this car. Last servicing, they told me to change my battery which they going to charge me $450 for a 70AH battery. Crazy ya. End up I go to other workshop and change it for $160. By the way mine is Diesel model registered in Jan-2014.

Oh Yes, this reminds me that I could not start my car after 6 months of driving the brand new car due to battery faulty. They changed it for me FOC due to warranty and is within 6 months. I have 2 friends driving Diesel model...so far..theirs is fine...only the factory GPS is rather unfriendly to use and some vibration of car. After some computer tuning, the vibration is gone.

Unlike Petrol engines, Diesel engines have no spark plugs & it rely very much on the battery to start the engine. So battery wear will be faster. But the advantages are the higher torque, good fuel comsumption n lower pump price compared to petrol.

Hi, can you share how long before you change your 1st battery.

I got my 5008 diesel in Oct-14, but hearing frequent stories of batt die early, just want to pre-empt myself whether to change it during my 20k coming Sep.

Its 15k now, everything is fine so far Very Happy

Gearbox is the SMG (BMW lingo) type. The jerky one. I think all diesel Peugeot comes in this gearbox.
